To use Thunderbird in another language, you need to install the language as an add-on:- First close Thunderbird and open your browser to change the language in Thunderbird to German.
- If you only want to use the German language pack, download the Language Pack German.
- If you would like to use Thunderbird possibly also in other languages, download the add-on Quick Locale Switcher.
- Click on "Download" at the desired of the two add-ons and note where you save the file.
- Now open Thunderbird and click on "Add-ons" in the menu button or navigate to "Add-ons" under "Tools".
- Then click on the gear icon and select "Install add-on from file". Navigate to the downloaded file under "Open".
- Finally click on "Install now".
- To change the language in Thunderbird to German now, click on the country flag in the right area of the lower screen bar. Select German.
