Thunderbird read receipt: how easy to set it up
In Thunderbird, it is very easy to set up the read receipt. With this feature, you will receive a notification as soon as the recipient of your email has received and opened the message.
How to enable Thunderbird read receipt for your outgoing emails
To set up read receipt in Thunderbird, first open the program. Then proceed like this:- Then click on the menu button or "Tools" in older versions. Navigate via "Settings" further to "Advanced" to "Receipts".
- Set the check mark at "Always request a receipt". Alternatively, you can also set certain conditions here when you want to receive a read receipt. Confirm with "OK".
- The recipient of your email can decide for themselves at any time whether a read receipt should be sent to you or not. So do not rely on your made setting to know whether the email was read or not.
How to manage the read receipt in Thunderbird
In the same window you also have the option to make other settings for read or receipt confirmations.- Pick the location for incoming read receipts and also specify in which cases a receipt should be sent to the sender when you open an email.
- Another way to personalize your Thunderbird profile is to create a signature. With the use of HTML, you can customize this signature and specify, for example, more contact options from you.
