Outlook: send read receipt - secure yourself
By now you can clarify many things via email, which makes it more and more important that you have a proof that your emails have really been taken note of. Due to this, you should always send a read receipt to have a proof in your hand.
How to send a read receipt in Outlook
A read receipt can serve as proof if there is a dispute whether an email was sent.- Start a browser of your choice and open Outlook in it. Enter your login details.
- On the home page, click on the "File" option and look for the "Options" button in the left column.
- In the new window, you need to select the "Email" tab and look for the "History" section in the menu that appears.
- Now check the "Read confirmation, confirming that the recipient has viewed the message."
- Confirm your selection by clicking the "Ok" button. Now Outlook will send each of your sent emails with a read receipt.
- If you only want to add a read receipt to specific emails, you can do that as well.
- To do that, open the "New Email" option and select "Options".
- It now open the options for this email and you must specify that you request a read receipt.
