IKEA: Symfonisk setup - how to do it

The IKEA Symfonisk speaker, available since 2019, is available both as a table lamp and in the form of a shelf. However, you always need to connect and set up both variants of the speaker with your smartphone before using it for the first time. You can read how this works for both variants here.

What to consider when setting up the IKEA Symfonisk

The IKEA Symfonisk speakers are available in Germany since August 2019. Here you have the choice between two models. While one variant of the IKEA Symfonisk is also a table lamp, you can also use the second variant of the smart speaker as a shelf. Regardless of which variant you choose, you need the free Sonos app to set it up, as well as an existing WLAN connection.

1. If you have the IKEA Symfonisk table lamp, please first connect the power cable to the speaker to set it up.
2. Then turn the bulb into the lamp base and screw the lampshade onto the base
3. Now open the Sonos app on your smartphone and log in to your Sonos account.
4. To complete the setup, please select the Wi-Fi network used, press the "plus button" on the speaker and set a room for the speaker.

Have you decided on the shelf variant of the IKEA Symfonisk speaker, it is also necessary here first to connect the device with the power cord. Once you have done this, you can place the WLAN speaker either horizontally or vertically.
