How to make your own GIF on WhatsApp

In WhatsApp you will already find a large selection of GIFs that you can send as a message to your friends. In addition, however, there is also the possibility to create your own GIFs. All you need is the latest WhatsApp version for Android or iOS and a video. To convert the video into a GIF, first open it in WhatsApp's editor and shorten its length to a maximum of six seconds. Add a text or sticker to the new GIF if you wish and then send the GIF as a WhatsApp message.

WhatsApp: Use these apps to make GIFs

In addition to the method described above for creating your own GIF directly in WhatsApp, you can also use special apps to make a GIF from a video or multiple images.

1. Available for both Android and iOS is Giphy Cam. To create a GIF, please open the app and select a video or the photos. Then you can share the created GIF directly within the app with your WhatsApp contacts.
2. The Free GIF Maker app works similarly, but it can only create a GIF from videos. Once you have created a new GIF using the app's tools, save it to your smartphone to select and send it later in WhatsApp.
