Unlock Android at home: how to set it

In terms of data security, smartphones should always be equipped with a security lock. At home, however, this is usually not necessary, unlocking then only means unnecessary effort. Read how to keep your Android device unlocked in certain locations.

With Smart Lock, your Android device will be automatically unlocked at specified locations.

The feature in question is Smart Lock: with this, you enter one (or more) locations where your device will be automatically unlocked.

Android: Do not lock at home - this is how Smart Lock works

To activate and set Smart Lock, proceed as follows:
  1. Open the "Settings".
  2. Select the "Lock Screen" section.
  3. Open "Smart Lock".
  4. Tap on "Trusted locations".
  5. Now enter the address of the desired location, for example, your home.
Keep in mind that location must be active on the device for the feature to work. Also note that you will need to unlock the smartphone if it has been rebooted or not used for four hours.
