HomeMatic: Activate expert mode - how to do it

If you use the HomeMatic Smart Home System in your house or apartment, it makes it easier for you to control various functions. If you want to make changes to the system's default settings, you can do so using the expert mode. Read here how to activate it.

Enable expert mode: How HomeMatic works

HomeMatic is a smart home system from the company eQ-3, which offers you various control functions for your house or apartment. In addition to taking over recurring tasks, such as closing and opening shutters and regulating the heating, the HomeMatic system also contributes to the security of your home through smoke and water detectors and an alarm function.

HomeMatic: This procedure is necessary to activate the expert mode

If you want to make additional settings for your HomeMatic system that go beyond the standard, this is possible in the expert mode. To activate the HomeMatic expert mode, it is first necessary to call up the WebUI user interface of the HomeMatic in your browser.

1. On the user interface page, then navigate to "Settings" > "User interface" and select the user for whom you want to activate the expert mode.
2. Then click on the "Edit" button located next to the user name and remove the check mark next to the entry "Activate simplified link configuration mode". If the simplified mode is disabled, the expert mode will be enabled automatically.
3. Finally click on "Apply settings" to save the changes and enable the expert mode for the selected user.
