With Homematic IP you can turn your home into a smart home. The program allows you to centrally control and automate heating, air conditioning, lighting and window coverings. The setup is done in several steps and first requires installing the Home Control Access Point.

How to set up your Homematic IP

If you have purchased a Homematic IP and want to set it up, always start with the Home Control Access Point. This device provides the connection between the devices that are to be controlled via Homematic IP and the Internet. The Access Point forwards all requests from the devices to the Homematic server and then receives all the necessary information to process the request and control the devices accordingly. In addition, you still need to install the Homematic app, which you can use to control all connected devices after setup.

The individual steps for setup

1. Install the Homematic app.
2. Take the access point out of the packaging and connect the device to a power outlet.
