Screenshot in Windows - how to take a picture
Whether you are playing a game or chatting, there is always a situation when you would like to take a picture of your screen. Here, every operating system offers the possibility to take a screenshot. In Windows, all you need for this process is a key combination.
How to take a screenshot in Windows
If you want to save the display of your screen as a photo and share it with your friends, it is a good idea to take a screenshot. This function is already included in every operating system and is usually triggered with a suitable key combination. However, keyboards themselves also have a key that you can use to take a screenshot. Regardless of which method you use, the photo is first saved to the clipboard. Then you have the option of opening the image via a selected software.- On Windows keyboards there are various keys with which you can take a screenshot. For example, at the top right of the F keys is the "Print" key. Alternatively, this can also be called "Print" or "Image".
- If you press this, a recording of your entire screen is saved to the clipboard. Using the key combination "Ctrl" + "V", you can then paste the image in programs such as "Paint" and save.
- If you only want to photograph part of your screen, the snipping tool can be useful. This you open via the search box in Windows.
- About "New" you can then mark with your mouse the area you want to photograph.
- As soon as you release the mouse, a picture is made and you can save it or discard it.
- Alternatively, use the key combination "Ctrl" + "Windows key" + "4".
