Windows 10: Apps don't start - How to solve the problem

If apps no longer start under Windows 10, this is mostly due to outdated versions. Either an update is needed for the operating system itself or for the individual apps. This is easy to figure out and reasonably quick to fix.

What you can do if apps won't start on Windows 10

Generally, it's quick to check whether you need a Windows update or an individual app update. Try opening a different app instead. If that doesn't cause any problems, then all you need to do is update the problematic app. If none of your apps start anymore, you urgently need to update your Windows 10 operating system software instead.

1. Normally, your Windows 10 updates itself all by itself. But you can also manually check for updates, if a problem has ever crept into the automatic update.
2. With the key combination [Windows] and [i] open the Windows settings. There you will find the "Update and Security" button.
3. By clicking on the bottom left sub-item "Windows Update", you open another menu. Possibly you will then already see new update files on the right side. Andernfalls können Sie den Button „Nach Updates suchen“ anklicken.

Einzelne Apps updaten

Bei Problemen mit vereinzelten Apps kann es schon völlig ausreichend sein, den Computer neu zu starten. Dadurch wird der Arbeitsspeicher gelöscht, der sich durch einen kleinen temporären Fehler aufhängen kann. Bleiben die Probleme bestehen, müssen Sie eventuell die App aktualisieren.

1. Besuchen Sie den Windows Store.
2. Klicken Sie oben rechts auf das Menü-Symbol.
3. Wählen Sie anschließend „Downloads und Updates“.
4. Aktualisieren Sie nun die entsprechenden Apps.
