Reset Ad-ID - how to do it step by step

Your smartphone is used to create an Ad-ID, which is used to display personalized advertising to you. Thus, it is possible that while browsing or in apps, you will be shown only the ads that match your interests. However, it is useful to reset this Ad-ID regularly via your device.

How to reset the Ad-ID

The Ad-ID is an advertising ID on Apple devices. It is used to analyze your user behavior and then display personalized advertising to you. On Apple devices, you have the option to reset this ID and completely disable ad tracking.

1. Open the "Settings" app on an Apple device of your choice.
2. Scroll down to the "Privacy" option. Tap on the entry to open it.
3. Now go all the way to the bottom. Here you will see the "Advertising" option. Tap on it to get more features displayed.
4. At the very top, there is an entry called "Restrict Ad Tracking". If you activate this, then you will no longer be shown personalized advertising and your user behavior will only be examined to a limited extent.
5. Directly below this is the "Reset Ad-ID ..." button. Tap on it to reset your ID. Bestätigen Sie den Vorgang erneut, in dem Sie auf die rote Schrift „ID zurücksetzen“ tippen.
