Adobe Illustrator: Connecting paths - how it works
Adobe Illustrator allows you to create vector graphics. These are assembled into shapes via the creation of paths. For this reason, it is often important to connect different paths together. Adobe Illustrator has provided a tool for this purpose.
Adobe Illustrator connect paths: This tool helps
Merging paths is available only since the Illustrator CC version. In earlier versions there is no option for this.- Start Adobe Illustrator and open the file in question or create a new project.
- Now check that the individual layers with the paths to be joined are not locked.
- Now select the Merge tool from the toolbar on the left.
- The tool is located directly below the brush and is the lowest selection in the context menu.
- Hold down the mouse button and move it over both paths, then release the button.
Adobe Illustrator: How to merge objects
- In addition to different paths, you can also merge created objects.
- Either use the Selection tool or use the key combination [Ctrl] + [A] to select all objects.
