Reset before sale: prepare iPhone X

If you are not satisfied or you are looking forward to a newer model from Apple, then you should properly reset your iPhone X before selling it. To ensure that the new user has no problems and your data is protected, there are a few things to keep in mind.

To protect your iPhone from theft and in case of loss, there is Apple ID and "Find my iPhone" feature. Before selling your iPhone X, it is important that you turn both off or log out respectively. Otherwise, your buyer will not be able to use the device.

1. First, you should create a backup to save all your data such as photos, contacts and more. On a new smartphone, you can restore this data so easily.
2. Unpair all devices such as the Apple TV or your smartwatch.
3. Will you soon no longer use an iPhone? Then go to Settings and deactivate the "iMessage" item in the "Messages" menu.
