Excel: Create a histogram - this is how it works
Excel is not only helpful in creating extensive tables and calculating them, but with the help of graphical functions you can even create individual charts and histograms. The steps to create such a histogram are child's play.
Excel: How to create a histogram
Of course, the first important thing is that you have already created a table in your data sheet from which the histogram can extract and display individual data.- First, switch to the "Add-ins" by navigating to the Excel option via the "Windows button". There you activate the "Analysis Functions".
- Now enter your data to be validated as well as the individual supercategories.
- Now you can select the histogram in the "Data" tab under "Data Analysis".
- Now mark your list with the data for the input area and your categories for the class area.
- In the output area, click on the first cell and check "Cumulative frequencies" and "Chart representation".
- Now right-click on the created chart and select the "Row options" under "Formatting" and further "Spacing width". There you click on "No spacing".
- Within the formatting you can still make further settings to design the diagram entirely according to your preferences.
- The settings can be adjusted and changed again at any time, should you prefer a different formatting at a later time.
- Finally, you can still specify the frame color as well as the frame type.
