What can you use to create HTML files?

If you already know some basics of HTML, you'll want to get started right away. But before you can do that, you need the appropriate tools to create an HTML file from your code. For this, usually different editors are used, which offer different functions.

There are different programs, with which you can create HTML files. However, this requires some basic knowledge of the language. The editors and programs usually differ in the range of functions. Which one you use afterwards depends on your preference.

1. For HTML code, you can easily open the Windows Editor. You will find this pre-installed on your computer under "Windows Accessories". After you have entered your code, go to "File" > "Save as". Select "All Files" as the file type and enter the file name with the extension .html. Then you get an HTML file.
2. Another option is to use Microsoft Word. In this case, it is not necessary to insert HTML tags, because this is already done automatically by Word. Once you have written your text, go to "File" > "Save As". For "File Type", select "Web Page" and give your document a name. Klicken Sie auf „Speichern“, wird eine HTML-Datei erstellt.
