Steam: Family Sharing - how to use the service

Steam is a platform where you can purchase games and download them. In doing so, all the games you purchase are linked to your account and you can download them again at any time. It is also possible to share the games with your friends via Family Sharing.

How to use Family Sharing on Steam?

Steam Family Sharing allows other people to play your games while you are not online. To do this, however, you must first set up the service.
  1. Open the Steam client and click "Steam" in the menu at the top, then click "Settings."
  2. Now click "Family" in the settings and enable the "Authorize this computer" option under the "Family Library" heading.
  3. Once the computer is authorized, you will be presented with a list of authorized accounts. These have already been shared by you on other PCs. Check the appropriate names, so that this can play your games.
If you often play with your friends together, then it is convenient that you open a group. With this you can invite all your friends. So that you always have an overview of your friends, even if they change your Gamertag more often, you can give them nicknames. This will remain even if a friend changes his name. This way you can recognize your friend.
