Viber Out: prices and functionality at a glance

Viber Out is an add-on feature that primarily revolves around calling abroad. Domestic calls are, after all, mostly possible for free on several routes nowadays, while things still look more complicated in the direction of foreign countries.

This applies when the called party has no VoIP telephony option, but relies on the conventional mobile or fixed network.

What is Viber Out and how does it work?

In this situation, Viber Out is advantageous because:

• If the person you are calling does not use Viber, you can call him or her within Germany for just 1.9 cents per minute.
• For calls to other countries, higher prices apply; these vary depending on the country. To Austria, for example, it is 12.2 cents.
• In order to use Viber Out, you must first load your account with credit, according to the prepaid principle.
• You can choose between normal credit, which is simply charged per minute, or special rates where you save money.

Calls with Viber Out between Viber users are free, as it is then an ordinary VoIP call, as it has long been possible with other services.
