This is how offline navigation is possible on the iPhone

To use your iPhone for navigation while traveling, the device already has a pre-installed map app. However, this app can only be used for navigation if your iPhone has an active internet connection. If you would like to navigate with your iPhone in offline mode as well, this is only possible by installing an additional app.

1. The app "CoPilot GPS-Offline", which you can download for free from the App Store, is suitable for this purpose.
2. Open the app for the first time after installation, you will be prompted to create an account.
3. Then you can download a map for your region and select a destination via the magnifying glass icon.
4. To view more details of the route, please tap on the blue "plus icon" or start the navigation by pressing on the green arrow.

How navigation works with Google Maps

If you have Google Maps installed on your iPhone, offline navigation is also possible with this app. To do this, first open Google Maps and enter a location. Then tap the name of the place first, and then tap the three-dot menu. In the menu, go to "Download Offline Map" > "Download" to save the map on your iPhone and use it later even without the Internet.
