Fire TV stick not responding - what's the problem?

If the Fire TV stick is not responding, this can be very frustrating. The problem is not unique, nor can it be fixed directly due to the lack of response. Nevertheless, there is a solutions that will wake up the stick again.

What to do if the Fire TV stick stops responding?

If your Fire TV stick no longer wants to accept input, you are often confronted with a blank or frozen screen, or the Amazon logo does not want to disappear at all.

1. First restart the device. A restart in many situations already brings a satisfactory solution.
2. To do this, disconnect the stick completely from the power supply and wait about 20 seconds until you connect it again. Note that you do not reboot the Fire TV Stick by turning your TV on and off!
3. Hold optionally the round selection button as well as the play button for about five seconds.
4. Make sure you only use the power adapter, which is also recommended by the manufacturer.
5. It is also recommended to use the supplied HDMI extension.
6. In this sense, also test whether another HDMI input possibly fixes the problem.
7. If the problem occurs regularly, you should reset the stick to factory settings.

During the initial setup, it can also happen, among other things, that the initialization process is very lengthy. In this case, you will see the Amazon logo unchanged for a few minutes. However, this is normal and you should give your stick the necessary time.
