What is NFC on Samsung? What's behind the technology

NFC stands for "Near Field Communication" and is an international transmission standard. This is used to exchange data wirelessly over short distances. Most Samsung smartphones already have this standard when purchased, which is why retrofitting the chip is not necessary.

If you want to make contactless payments with your smartphone, for example, it must be NFC-enabled. This is the case if the device has the corresponding chip. For Samsung devices, the NFC chip is standard equipment, especially for the new phones. As with other smartphones, NFC also has the same purpose with Samsung.

1. NFC is called "Near Field Communication" in detail and is used for data transmission over short distances.
2. The international transmission standard exists as passive and active NFC mode.

4. Beim aktiven NFC-Modus dagegen können beide beteiligten Geräte senden und lesen.
5. Der NFC-Tag besteht aus einem kleinen Speicherchip, auf dem Daten im Umfang von 168 bis 2.048 Byte gespeichert werden können.
6. NFC soll als Ergänzung zu Bluetooth dienen und kommt in Deutschland vor allem beim mobilen Bezahlen zum Einsatz. Hierbei können bis jetzt jedoch lediglich kleine Beträge transferiert werden.
