Printer is displayed offline: bring it back online
If your printer is connected but it is displayed with the status "offline", you can usually solve the problem yourself. A broken cable, an outdated driver, or an incorrect setting may be to blame for your printer not working properly.
First, check your device's cabling to your PC. Probe the cable for cable breakage and try testing a different USB port on your PC. Also, make sure your printer is not in sleep mode, because even then the device will show as offline on the PC.If you are running the printer as a network printer and it regularly shows as offline, the cause could be that the printer is frequently assigned a new IP, but the PC does not process this change. You can assign a fixed IP to the printer to solve the problem.Allow printer through Windows
If the printer is not allowed through Windows, the device will automatically show as offline.- Open the Control Panel by typing "Control Panel" in the Windows taskbar search. For previous versions of Windows, you can find the Control Panel in the Start menu.
- Select "Devices and Printers". There you will see your printer grayed out because it is offline.
- Right-click the printer and open the "Printer Properties". Unter dem Reiter Sicherheit setzen Sie bei „Zulassen“ ein Häkchen. Legen Sie den Drucker zudem mit Rechtsklick als Standartdrucker fest.
