Rust: This brought the Elevator update - all info

The construction of the base is a fundamental part of the survival fun in Rust. With the Elevator update, an important and long-awaited option was added in October 2020. We have all the info.

Conveniently from floor to floor: Rust now has elevators.

The elevator update went live on 1. October 2020 live and ensured high player numbers, as the central feature sounded very tempting.

Rust: Elevator update delights eager builders

According to the name, elevators were added to Rust with the Elevator update.
  • These can be constructed by the players themselves and integrated into the base.
  • This logically requires electricity. In the early phase of base construction, elevators are thus not yet an option, but only when you are technologically already somewhat advanced and have the necessary materials.
  • By pressing a button, the elevator can be called to the desired floor.
  • Both during construction and later, caution is required, because if you are under the elevator while it descends, this ends fatally for your character.
The larger the base, the more practical an elevator that connects the floors. After all, building to heights is also very popular for tactical reasons. In the course of the update, quite a few small bugs were also fixed, for example in the lighting of cargo ships, and the values of some features (such as the boost tees) were raised. The full patch notes can be found on this Steam page.
