Steam offers countless content for children, but others are not recommended for this age group. The family view helps out with this problem. It allows filtering of content in Steam. This is especially useful for families with children. So you can restrict access to an account according to your rules.

How to set Steam Family View

With Steam Family View, it's possible to set your child's account to only have content that you want them to have access to. To activate the feature, proceed as follows:

1. First log in to the Steam client with your account data.
2. Click on "Steam" in the top left corner.
3. In the opened menu, open the "Settings".
4. Click on "Family" on the left.
5. Then select "Manage Family View".
6. Now determine which content will be shared. This is the central aspect of the function. Then click "Next".
7. Follow the steps and create a PIN.
8. Enter the secret code you just received by mail.

The family view is now enabled, which means that the functions are restricted depending on which features you have previously shared. This way you set exactly what content fellow users can access, which is especially useful for children.Important: To disable the family view again and access all content, the PIN code is always required.
