Transferring the current game stand of Pokémon GO is usually not necessary. This is because Pokémon GO does not store game stands locally on your current device. Instead, they are backed up either in your Google account or via the Pokémon Trainer Club. Therefore, to move Pokémon GO to a new phone, all you need to do is download the app to the new device and log in with the appropriate account. In this way, it is also possible to install Pokémon GO on two devices and always have the current game state on both.

This is how the transfer of an old Pokémon GO version works

If you could not wait until the Pokémon GO app is officially released in Germany and have therefore played the game so far as an APK version, it is necessary to transfer the saved games to the official app.

1. If you are using an Android device, first delete the old version of Pokémon GO completely from your smartphone.
