Xing profile picture size - these are the optimal image dimensions

Since the profile picture is usually the first thing viewers see of your Xing profile, there are a few things to consider when choosing it. Xing: This is the optimal size for a profile picture

While the Xing profile picture used to be displayed in a rectangular format with a size of 640 x 846 pixels, the platform has been using a new format since 2014. Profile pictures are now square and should ideally have a size of 1,024 x 1,024 pixels. If the photo you want to use as a profile picture does not meet these dimensions, simply crop it to fit. If possible, avoid a centered crop and rather crop the image minimally at or above the head.

How to upload a profile picture on Xing

Once you have decided on an image that you would like to use for your Xing profile, you can upload it. The procedure here is independent of whether you are changing an existing profile picture or uploading a profile picture for the first time.

1. First log in to your account on the Xing website and click on the thumbnail of your current profile picture or the displayed shadow picture in the top left corner.
2. Then select the "Edit business card" option displayed next to your profile photo to open the edit screen.
3. Click there again on your profile picture and navigate to the location of the photo you want to upload.
4. Once you confirm the change you have made by clicking "Save", the previously uploaded image will appear as your new profile picture.
