How to lock the Amazon Echo

The Amazon Echo is a smart speaker that allows you to control other devices, but also to make purchases. For this very reason, it is important to lock the Echo so that, for example, your children do not make any unauthorized purchases. Overall, however, it is not possible to lock the device.

1. On your smartphone, go to the Alexa app that you used to set up your Echo.
2. Here, select the "Settings" option.
3. In the next step, look for the "Alexa Account" entry. Tap on this.
4. To get to the subsequent menu, tap on "Voice shopping".
5. Here you now have the option to completely disable shopping with the Echo. Alternatively, you can set up a voice code. Dieser besteht aus vier Ziffern und muss vor jeder Bestellung, die Sie tätigen möchten, eingesprochen werden.
