Kanban: procedures - these exist
Kanban is known as a method for inventory management as well as production control. This method is thereby based on the pull principle, in which the consumer takes the material needed for production from his supplier. This is mostly controlled by so-called Kanban cards.
These procedures exist in Kanban
Kanban is based on six principles, without which the system would not work correctly. In addition to clear rules and a task limit, these include a workflow, a continuous improvement process, a leadership as well as models. Through the use of Kanban should thus reduce the management effort in various areas.- Production Kanban: This procedure is used in the field of control in production areas.
- Transport Kanban: In this procedure, the material is transported with the help of signals from a Kanban warehouse or a Kanban location to the point of consumption.
- Purchasing Kanban: Here, the purchasing department receives information about the materials to be ordered by Kanban cards.
- Running card Kanban: Here, an improved overview is granted in the course of the work steps of the product to be manufactured. Here, both operations and the stations provided for it are noted, which the product must pass through.
- Stock Kanban: In this procedure, a protocol is created for the replenishment of stocks. At the same time, this is to avoid a bottleneck of materials.
- Special Kanban: This procedure is only applicable once and must also be specially marked, so as to stand out from other procedures and make the special status evident.
