Discord causing CPU problems? That could be the reason

Discord has become one of the world's leading services for online voice communication. Nevertheless, there are sometimes problems, first and foremost the high CPU load affects many users.

Overwrought: Discord causes a much too high CPU load for quite a few users.

Discord is free, looks good and is easy to use. However, all this can only be enjoyed if the program does not cause any hardware problems.

Discord: CPU problems homemade?

Online, there are numerous complaints from users who report that Discord puts far too much strain on the processor - in some cases it is even over 40 percent. This not only affects performance, but can also lead to problems such as crashes.Since the problem seems to lie with Discord, there is no one hundred percent reliable solution. However, what might help:
  • Open the "User Settings" in Discord and select "Appearance" on the left side of the bar. In the right pane further down, you will find the "Hardware Acceleration" item. This should be enabled, as it allows the graphics card to take over some of the performance. As a result, the processor is relieved.
  • Important: This is only advisable if the frame rate does not suffer.
  • In some cases, a complete reinstallation of Discord also helps.
Unfortunately, better approaches do not currently exist - in the worst case, the only way out is to use another program. As a first alternative, the classic Teamspeak 3 offers itself for this, since this hardly affects the performance.
