Whoever wants to read the Dark Tower saga by Stephen King first needs an overview.

The Dark Tower: order of the books quickly explained

The Dark Tower was released in Germany on August 10, 2017. With Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey, two real superstars play the main roles - that alone is reason enough for many readers to take a look at the book template. The saga consists of eight books in total. In total, it is one of the longest works ever written.
  1. "Black" was published as a serial novel, which is why the individual chapters came out in different years.
  2. "Three" appeared in 1987 as the second part of the series.
  3. "Dead" is the third volume and he already exists since 1991.
  4. "Glass" came six years later on the market.
  5. "Wolf Moon" appeared already two years later in 1999.
  6. "Susannah" and "The Tower" were intended as a temporary conclusion. Both parts were published in 2004, barely four months apart.
  7. "Wind" was announced in 2011 and subsequently hit bookshelves in 2012.
Note that the chronological order is different from the order in which you can read the books. The eighth part ("Wind") was published only in 2012, but the plot takes place between the fourth and fifth parts. For new readers of the saga, this is good to know, as they can slide the book in accordingly and not have to read it last, even though it was published the latest.
