Recover deleted photos - how to do it

If you realize after deleting certain photos that you still need them, you can recover them directly on the mobile device. However, this is only possible within a certain period of time after deletion. How to proceed correctly to recover deleted photos, read here.

How to recover deleted photos on Android device

For quite some time now, all Android devices have had their own photo app, with which you can not only view and edit your pictures, but also back them up. This has the advantage that once deleted photos are not immediately lost, but can be restored. Up to 60 days after deletion, the photos are stored by Google and can be restored via the recycle bin. To retrieve the deleted photos, please open the Photos app on your device and tap "Recycle Bin" in the menu there. Then tap "Recover", select the relevant photos and confirm your selection.

Recover deleted photos on iOS devices

Apple also offers its users on the iPhone or iPad a photo app in which deleted photos remain stored for up to 30 days. If you want to recover the deleted photos in this period, please proceed as follows:
  1. On your iPhone or iPad, please open the photo app and go to the "Albums" section in it.
  2. Scroll down in the albums section to the entry "Recently deleted" and tap on it to get to the overview with all deleted photos.
  3. Now select one or more deleted photos and tap on "Recover" to get them back.
