Ok Google: change commands - these options are available

If you want to control Google's voice assistant, then it is necessary to first say "Ok Google" and then utter your command. These are usually set for the different functions. However, you also have the option to add or change new commands.

How to change commands for "Ok Google"

If you want to change a command or add a new OK Google command, you can do this via the shortcuts. If you would like to see what shortcuts are available first, go to your profile picture in the settings. Then click on "Settings" > "Assistant" > "Shortcuts". Here you will now see a list of all popular shortcuts. Select one and save it to add it to your Assistant. Alternatively, you can create one yourself.
  1. Tap on the home screen button on your smartphone.
  2. Now click on the compass icon in the bottom right corner.
  3. Next, select your profile picture. Click on "Settings".
  4. In the next step, tap on "Assistant" and then on "Shortcuts".
  5. To create a new shortcut, tap on "Create new shortcut" or on the plus symbol.
  6. In the "When I say" area, now enter the phrase you want to use to trigger a specific action.
  7. About "Google Assistant should do the following" also enter the action that should be done. Note that you can use commands that work with the voice assistant for this.
