The Meizu M6s will have an 18:9 screen and an Exynos 7872 processor (made by Samsung). The fingerprint reader will be placed on the side
The 2018 will be a year on the attack for Meizu. The Chinese company has decided to change pace and especially to abandon the processors made by MediaTek. On the outgoing smartphones of 2018 we will find the processors of Samsung (Exynos) and Qualcomm (Snapdragon).
The novelty can be appreciated already on the Meizu M6s, the first smartphone of 2018 of the Chinese company, and inside which is placed the Exynos 7872, entry-level chipset that ensures good performance. For Meizu this is not the first experience with Samsung chipsets: already in the past it had collaborated with the South Korean company and the results had been very good. The partnership with Samsung also extends to the photographic sector, with the rear camera made by the Asian giant. Another novelty of the Meizu M6s is the fingerprint reader that is moved to the side (the design is borderless, with a very thin top and bottom frame).
Features Meizu M6s
The Meizu M6s is the first smartphone from the Chinese company to have a screen with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The display is 5.7 inches with HD+ resolution (1440×720 pixels). But, as anticipated earlier, the real novelty is in the hardware compartment. On board we find a Samsung Exynos 78272 chipset, with Mali-G71 GPU and supported by 3GB of RAM and 32/64GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB with a microSD card). The smartphone is an entry-level one, but it should provide pretty good performance. Moving on to the photo compartment, at the back we find a 16 Megapixel Samsung sensor with 2.0 focal aperture, while at the front there is an 8 Megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture.
One of the Meizu M6s' peculiarities is the fingerprint reader. Due to lack of space has been moved to the side, while the mBack button (characteristic of all Meizu that allowed you to use ad hoc gestures) has become virtual and activates special functions depending on the pressure made by the user on the screen. The battery is 3000mAh and supports fast charging (50% charge in just 30 minutes). On board there will be Android Nougat customized with the Flyme 6.2 UI.
Price and release date Meizu M6s
The Meizu M6s will be available in China from January 20. For the European market (and therefore Italian) there is still no news about it: we will have to wait a couple of months. The price of the Meizu M6s refers exclusively to China: the version 3/32GB costs 999 yuan (about 125 euros at the exchange rate), while for the model 3/64GB will have to shell out 1199 yuan (about 150 euros at current exchange rates).
