Redmi Note 9T: the new low-cost smartphone coming

Redmi is ready to launch a new low-cost smartphone on the market of the Note 9 series: the characteristics of Redmi Note 9T and the price

Redmi Note 9T could land on the market soon. It would be yet another model of the Redmi Note 9 series launched in 2020 and, according to the appearance of the smartphone on the site Geekbench, the time may be ripe for its official debut among the proposals of the series of the Chinese manufacturer.

The new cell phone of Xiaomi comes after the models launched in recent months and belonging to the same series. In fact, after the first three models launched in India, the manufacturer has focused on low-priced versions of the same line, until the announcement made in recent months of the option with 5G connectivity, or Redmi Note 9 5G, in three other models dedicated at least in the first instance to the Chinese market. With the presentation of Note 9T globally, Redmi could therefore finally complete the proposal related to the line, adding another piece to the variants on the theme to reduced budget.

Redmi Note 9T, technical characteristics

According to what was revealed by Geekbench, the new Redmi smartphone should debut with the code M2007J22G. Equipped, as is evident from the name, with 5G connectivity. On the processor mounted on the new smartphone there are, however, still doubts.

In fact, if Geekbench reports the presence of an ARM MT6853T with 4GB of RAM, according to Gizmochina this may not correspond to the truth since the same version was attributed to the Redmi Note 9 5G before discovering, once on sale, the presence of a MediaTek Dimensity 800U. Creating even more havoc, is the fact that the variant with 4GB of Ram is not present in China, where instead it is sold exclusively with 6GB and 8GB cuts.

As for the screen, however, it would be a 6.53-inch FullHD+ LCD display, equipped with punch-hole in the upper left quadrant for housing the front camera. On the back, on the other hand, there should be a triple camera with a 48 MP primary sensor, an 8 MP ultra wide-angle lens and a third one with a 2 MP sensor. The battery would be, at least on paper, particularly performing given the 5000 mAh capacity, with support for fast charging at 22.5W.

The only flaw, at least with regard to the basic equipment, is that relating to the operating system. In fact, Redmi Note 9T would be sold with Android 10 pre-installed, a step backwards compared to the currently circulating release, namely Android 11, which could however be optimistically accessed through an update.

Redmi Note 9T, launch date and price

According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Redmi Note 9T is expected to be launched on the market during January 2021. As for the cost, the only certain information is that it belongs to the low-cost range, although there is currently no information with respect to the actual selling price.
