The smartphones of the much-anticipated OnePlus 9 Series adapt to every type of use and the needs of every user. From those who use the smartphone for gaming and will be able to count on a display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, to those who are passionate about photography and will be able to experience the sensors made by professional camera manufacturer Hasselblad, supported by the new Natural Color Calibration standard for excellent image quality. Both smartphones are equipped with the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, support 5G connectivity and some of the best fast charging solutions in the industry: the Warp Charge 65T and Warp Charge 50 Wireless.
OnePlus 9: official features and price
The OnePlus 9 has a design with a curved back shell and a 6.55-inch HDR10+ certified AMOLED Fluid Display with 120 Hz refresh rate, supported by the protection of a Corning Gorilla Glass and with an integrated fingerprint reader. The processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 with integrated X60 5G modem supported by two different RAM sizes of 8 GB or 12 GB, and two different UFS 3.1 internal memory sizes of 128 GB or 256 GB. The 4500 mAh battery supports Warp Charge 65T for a full charge in just 29 minutes and Qi wireless at 15W.
There's no shortage of top camera compartment with the Hasselblad Camera for Mobile supporting the Natural Color Calibration with Hasselblad color calibration standard. It's a triple configuration with 48 MP Sony IMX689 main sensor, 50 MP Sony IMX766 ultra wide-angle with curved Freeform Lens to decrease edge distortion, and a 2 MP monochrome lens for more detailed black and white photos. In addition to professional shots, you can shoot up to 8K video. The front camera, on the other hand, is a 16 MP Sony IMX471 sensor.
The OnePlus 9 is available in Winter Mist, Arctic Sky and Astral Black colorways. Sales will start from April 26, but starting from March 23 you can pre-order at a price of 719 euros for the version 8/128 GB and 810 euros 12/256 GB.
OnePlus 9 Pro: official features and price
The top of the range of the new series of Chinese smartphones is the OnePlus 9 Pro, with Fluid Display 2.0 OLED screen from the curvature optimized with LTPO technology 6.7 inches and refresh rate up to 120 Hz with automatic adjustment. In addition, the 360Hz Hyper Touch feature allows for reduced response times, making it perfect for gaming. The fingerprint reader is integrated into the display and the smartphone is IP68 certified, resistant to dust and water.
The processor is the Snapdragon 888 with and 8 or 12 GB memory cuts for RAM and 128 or 256 GB UFS 3.1 for internal storage. The smartphone supports connectivity is 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, USB-C, NFC, dual band GPS, Glonass, dual band Galileo and Beidou. The operating system is still Android 11 with OxygenOS interface, while battery life is provided by a 4500 mAh dual-cell battery that supports Warp Charge 65T, from 1 to 100% in 29 minutes, and Warp Charge 50 Wireless, from 1 to 100% in 43 minutes, both at 25 W.
Excellence is found in the camera compartment, however, with a 16-megapixel Sony IMC471 front sensor and a Hasselblad Camera for Mobile rear camera compartment with Natural Color Calibration with Hasselblad that delivers professional shots thanks to the 48 MP Sony IMX789 primary sensor, which offers faster focus and color accuracy. The secondary is a 50 MP Sony IMX766 ultra wide-angle sensor with Freeform Lens to correct incoming light so as to limit distortion at the edges. Then there is the 8 MP telephoto lens that offers a 3.3X zom and digital zoom up to 30x, while the 2 MP monochrome lens ensures excellent black and white photos.
The smartphone is available in Morning Mist, Pine Green and Stellar Black colors in pre-order from March 23 and on sale from March 31 at a price of 919 euros for the 8/128 GB version and 999 euros for the 12/256 GB version.
OnePlus Watch: the official debut
During the event, OnePlus also launched its first wearable device: a smartwatch with a circular body and a neat design. The OnePlus Watch has a 46mm stainless steel case with 2.5D curved glass, allows you to answer phone calls, messages, listen to music thanks to the built-in 4GB of internal memory.
The device is water resistant up to 5ATM with IP68 certification, allows you to monitor over 110 different types of workouts, is equipped with sensors for heart rate, SpO2 oxygenation, stress and sleep. The built-in GPS allows you to monitor outdoor workouts as well, and the battery life of about 2 weeks is guaranteed by the 402 mAh battery, with a launch price of 159 euros.
