Oppo presents in China the Reno6 line composed of three mid-range smartphones that may soon arrive in Europe.
Another round another race for Oppo's Reno line. The Chinese giant has announced in the last few hours Oppo Reno6, Reno6 Pro and Reno6 Pro+, new Android smartphones that go to position themselves in the mid-range of the market, with Reno6 Pro and especially Reno6 Pro+ that try to trespass in the high-end.
The three new smartphones from Oppo are not yet official in Europe but could arrive in the coming weeks, so it's worth seeing in detail what they have to offer in anticipation of a possible landing in the Old Continent. Two of the new Oppo products rely on technical bases provided by MediaTek, a company among Qualcomm's main competitors that in recent times has raised its head again after a period in which it had somewhat slipped into the shadows. Merit of the recent line of SoC Dimensity that has received transversal appreciation from manufacturers also for the price-performance ratio that traditionally plays in favor of MediaTek.
Features of Oppo Reno6
Oppo Reno6 is intuitively the access product in the range. It offers a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 90 Hz refresh rate, the 6-nanometer MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC with a maximum frequency of 2.4 GHz along with 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128 or 256 GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage.
The camera for selfies is 32 megapixels, while three sensors find their place on the back: the main 64-megapixel f/1.7, the ultra wide-angle 8-megapixel f/2.2 with 119 degrees of field of view and finally a macro 2-megapixel f/2.4.
The fingerprint reader is integrated into the display, while on the connectivity front nothing is missing: 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi ax, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, NFC and USB-C. Dimensions of 156.8 × 72.1 × 7.59 mm for 182 grams of weight.
The battery is 4,500 mAh with 65-watt ultra fast charging.
Features of Oppo Reno6 Pro and Reno6 Pro+
Oppo Reno6 Pro and Reno6 Pro+ are very similar to each other. 6.55-inch 90 Hz Full HD+ AMOLED display curved at the edges, 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128 or 256 GB of UFS 3 internal storage.1 while the SoCs differ: on the Oppo Reno6 Pro there's a 6-nanometer MediaTek Dimensity 1200 with a maximum frequency of 3 GHz while on the Oppo Reno6 Pro+ there's a 7-nanometer Snapdragon 870 from Qualcomm with a maximum frequency of 3.2 GHz.
Differences that continue on the cameras, with the exception of the one for self-timer which is on both 32-megapixel. Oppo Reno6 Pro has a 64-megapixel f/1.7 main sensor, an 8-megapixel f/2.2 ultra wide-angle with a 119-degree field of view, a 2-megapixel retro portrait lens and finally a 2-megapixel macro also. The Oppo Reno6 Pro+ has a 50-megapixel f/1.8 main sensor, a 16-megapixel f/2.2 ultra wide-angle lens with 119-degree field of view, a 13-megapixel f/2.4 2x telephoto lens and finally a 2-megapixel macro.
Top-notch connectivity for both with 5G SA/NSA, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi ax, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, NFC and USB-C, in-display fingerprint reader, and dimensions that for Oppo Reno6 Pro are 160.0 × 73.1 × 7.6 mm for a weight of 177 g and for Oppo Reno6 Pro+ 160.8 × 72.5 × 7.99 mm for a weight of 188 g.
Read differences on the batteries, 4.200 mAh for the first and 4,500 mAh for the second, but identical ultra fast wired charging at 65 watts peak.
Availability and price of the Oppo Reno6
The Oppo Reno6 line, as anticipated, has not yet been announced in Europe. In China, Oppo Reno6 starts from the equivalent of about 360 euros, Oppo Reno6 Pro from about 450 euros and finally Oppo Reno6 Pro+ from about 520 euros. For all the access variant has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Sales in China from June 5.
