Redmi Max, the 86-inch Smart TV that costs only 1,000 euros

Xiaomi adds an 86-inch model to the range of smart TVs Redmi Max: it has an excellent price-features ratio but, unfortunately, it will hardly arrive in Italy.

Xiaomi presented the new Smart TV, Redmi Max 86 inches. This is the latest entry among the proposals of the Chinese company, full of technical features of the first category at a rather low price, despite the size of a real giant:  7,999 yuan, or about 1,000 euros at current exchange rates.

Compared to the average of the best Smart TVs 2021 this is a very advantageous price for such a diagonal. Despite its 86 inches, by the way, this model is not the largest among those made by Xiaomi in recent times. In fact, another smart TV has made people talk about its record-breaking size. This is the Redmi Max 98", which is a whopping 98 inches for a feature-rich TV at a price that is accessible to almost any budget. Both models have given a hard time to the Chinese company: in fact, for them Xiaomi had to study a special delivery plan, studying at the table a packaging of such dimensions as to allow a comfortable transport, in addition to being able to easily in 99.9% of the country's elevators, at least in the smallest version.

Redmi Max 86", technical characteristics

To characterize the new smart TV there is a 4K display, with support for the HDR10+ standard and variable refresh rate up to 120 Hz, in line with the most advanced models. With a refresh rate of this level Redmi Max 86" also adapts optimally to gaming, minimizing the possible presence of cases of screen tearing.

The smart TV is also equipped with Dolby Vision and Dolby Panorama technologies, for a particularly advanced and pleasant viewing experience. The large screen size is surrounded by a particularly thin bezel, so as to leave as much space as possible for the panel, with 92% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. Not a record, but more than enough to show vivid colors and quite faithful to the original.

On the audio side, however, this TV uses the Dolby Atmos standard for 3D sound, delivered through the two built-in 12.5 W speakers. To connect with external devices, Redmi Max 86" uses the three HDMI ports, including one HDMI 2.1, two USB ports, one in S/PDIF format in addition to the Ethernet cable slot available on the chassis made of metal. Obviously, to this is added wireless connectivity, through the Wi-Fi 802.11 ac protocol (2.4GHz / 5GHz).

Descending more in detail, the technical compartment reveals a quad-core ARM Cortex-A73 processor, which takes advantage of 2GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage space. As for the operating system, however, Xiaomi has chosen MIUI for TV in version 3.0, complete with Xiao AI voice assistant.

Redmi Max 86", will it arrive in Italy?

As anticipated, currently the Redmi Max 86" and 98" smart TVs have been put on sale exclusively in China. Although there is no information about the possible launch of Redmi Max 86" on the international market, it seems clear that Xiaomi has once again bet on a remarkable product, keeping faith with the philosophy of quality at low prices, thus making advanced products accessible to an increasingly wide audience.

That this smart TV will arrive in Italy is unlikely, but that many Italians would like it in Italy at that price is sure.
