The U.S. company is ready to relaunch itself after a not easy end of 2016. The GoPro Hero 6 is expected to be launched by the end of the year
It's budget time for GoPro. After a complicated second half of the year, the U.S. company reported losses of more than $100 million. The problems encountered by the GoPro Karma drone forced the company to recall more than 2000 aircraft, damaging the company's image.
Becoming famous thanks to the action cam, GoPro had to suffer the problems of an increasingly competitive market. In addition to the cameras presented by companies with years of experience in the field, GoPro has also had to face the arrival of Chinese companies, with Xiaomi in the lead. In the initial plans of the company, the GoPro Karma drone was supposed to serve to diversify the market, but the operation failed. The quadcopter presented rather serious problems that forced GoPro to recall over 2000 units. To revive the company's ambitions, the CEO announced that new action cams will be launched by the end of the year.
GoPro Hero6
In 2017, GoPro will focus on the company's core business and launch new action cam models. In addition to the new Hero 6, GoPro has assured that new action cams will be launched that will be able to meet users' demands. The company wants to go back to the old way of doing things in order to relaunch itself in the hope that the accounts will improve, after the more than 100 million losses recorded last year. The goal is to produce a better action cam than the Hero 5 Black, which is not an easy task given the quality of the camera.
