Honor Play, the smartphone for gaming arrives in Italy

Honor Play is designed for those who love to play games on their smartphone. On board we find the SoC Kirin 970, a GPU Turbo that increases performance by 60% and 4GB of RAM

"Crazy fast, crazy smart". These are the words used by Honor to present its new smartphone designed for gaming: the Honor Play. After being launched in China at the beginning of June, the Honor Play arrives in Italy and will be officially presented in Berlin on August 30.

With the Honor Play the Chinese company makes its debut in a market niche that companies are beginning to preside over a couple of months: that of gaming smartphones. These are devices with top-of-the-line technical features and optimizations designed to play the smartphone at its best. The first to launch a gaming smartphone was Razer and then came also Xiaomi with the Black Shark and Asus with the ROG Phone. The Honor Play differs from these devices for a very attractive launch price (only 329 euros) and for a "normal" design: on the front is the notch and in the back we do not find any LED or light that usually distinguishes these smartphones.

Features Honor Play

The smartphone has a technical card of all respect. On board we find the Kirin 970 chipset, the same one also present on the Huawei P20 Pro, supported by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage expandable up to 256GB with a microSD card. The real peculiarity of the Honor Play is the presence of "GPU Turbo" technology, a special software optimization of the GPU (the graphics card) that allows this component to have 60% higher performance when we launch a video game. In this way the images will always be fluid without any lowering of the frame rate.

The Full View screen is 6.3 inches with FullHD resolution and aspect ratio of 19:9. The photographic compartment is not a miracle: at the back there is a dual camera with a 16-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor that captures depth, while the front sensor is 16 megapixels. Good autonomy guaranteed by the 3750mAh battery. The smartphone will come to market with Android 8.1, but well soon will come the update to Android 9 Pie.

Price and output Honor Play

The smartphone will be presented in Berlin on August 30 and in the following days will be made available for purchase: the price is 329 euros. A low price considering the technical card of the Honor Play, which is a candidate to be one of the smartphones with the best value for money of this end of 2018.
