HTC presents the new top of the range U11: best camera on the market and 5.5-inch QuadHD screen. Available in Italy from June at 799 euros
HTC attempts the relaunch, for the umpteenth time. After having presented the HTC U Ultra at the beginning of the year, the Taiwanese company doubles with another top of the range: the HTC U11, the smartphone that should counter LG G6 and the Samsung Galaxy S8.
The HTC U11 is the worthy heir to the smartphones that the company produced a few years ago and that led HTC to be one of the first global manufacturers of cell phones. The device has top of the range features supported by the revolutionary U Touch technology, which allows you to interact with the smartphone directly through the body: just squeeze the device to access the camera, your favorite applications or to take a picture. HTC hopes in this way to return to be competitive in a sector, that of top of the range smartphones, increasingly difficult and fragmented.
Features HTC U11
The HTC U11 mounts a chipset Snapdragon 835 supported by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory, expandable up to 2TB with a microSD. Technical characteristics very similar to other top of the range devices already on the market such as the Galaxy S8 and LG G6. The HTC U11, however, differs in the rear camera. The Taiwanese company mounts a 12 Megapixel sensor characterized by a multi-axis optical stabilization system and that allows you to take photos of the highest quality even in low light conditions. In the DxOMark ranking, which evaluates smartphone cameras, the HTC U11's sensor got a score of 90, the highest so far. The front camera, on the other hand, is 16 megapixels and will allow you to take good quality selfies both in daylight and at night. The screen, however, is 5.5 inches with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The smartphone does not have an audio jack, but HTC offers an adapter to connect headphones. The battery is 3000 mAh.
U Touch Technology
One of the most interesting features of the HTC U11 is definitely the U Touch technology that allows you to interact with the smartphone directly through the shell. The device doesn't have a curved screen like the Galaxy S8, but it makes up for the lack through the HTC Edge Sense feature: all you have to do is squeeze the smartphone to be able to access Facebook or start the camera. Also thanks to the same feature, the user will be able to send messages faster and customize each compression gesture depending on the application.
Price and release date
The price of the HTC U11 is 749 euros and will be available in Italy from the first days of June. In the meantime, it can be pre-ordered on the Taiwanese company's website. The available colors will be Amazing Silver, Sapphire Blue, Brilliant Black, Ice White and Solar Red.
