After an endless series of difficulties, the Huawei P50s are ready for official release. Here are the latest previews on the cameras of P50, P50 Pro and P50 Pro+
A few days before the official presentation, interesting details are starting to emerge on the cameras that will be included on board the Huawei P50, a range that in recent years has been presented in spring but this year is coming in late summer due to the known difficulties of Huawei.
The gestation of Huawei P50, P50 Pro and P50 Pro+ has not been at all easy, indeed. The company had several problems with the supply of components; to solve them, it is said that it had to make changes to the project in progress, so much so that the Huawei P50 should have had a 6.3-inch display and dimensions of the whole body greater than the smartphone that will be presented. In short, Huawei has been forced to make a virtue of necessity, probably adapting the project to the actual availability of components. The displays should come from BOE's production lines - which already in the past has provided the screens for the company's previous smartphones - while the operating system will be that HarmonyOS recently presented to replace Android.
The cameras of Huawei P50, P50 Pro and P50 Pro+
The difficulties that have affected all manufacturers but that Huawei had to add to the pre-existing ones for the US ban does not seem, however, to have prevented the company from pushing as usual on the cameras, true flagship of all the top of the range presented in recent years. Rumor has it that Huawei P50 will have three cameras on the back, will be four on Huawei P50 Pro and even five on Huawei P50 Pro+
According to what was shared by an informant on Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Facebook, Huawei P50 will have as main sensor a Vario-Summilux-H1: 1.6-3.5/13-90 ASPH (acronym referring to the use of aspherical lenses), accompanied by an ultra-wide-angle sensor (probably 13mm) and a telephoto lens for 3.5x optical magnifications with an aperture of f/1.6 - f/3.5.
Huawei P50 Pro on the other hand, as per tradition, will go further through a Vario-Summilux-H1 main lens: 1.8-3.4/18-125 ASPH (aspherical lenses also in this case), an ultra wide-angle sensor presumably 18mm and finally a telephoto lens for 5x optical zooms (and in this case the periscope arrangement would be almost certain).
On the "super" top of the range Huawei P50 Pro+ the anticipations are less detailed: the well-informed have said only that in all likelihood the ultra wide-angle sensor will be very similar or even the same as that used on Huawei Mate 40 Pro+, so always 14 mm equivalent focal length, and it is said that it could also raise the maximum zoom from 100x to 200x, a result that would result from the combination of the optical zoom resulting from a telephoto lens very pushed and a massive use of digital zoom.
Huawei P50, when they arrive
After a long wait, however, the Huawei P50 range is about to come to light. In fact, the company announced that it will present the three flagship smartphones on Thursday, July 29, 2021. It will be interesting to see if they will arrive immediately in Europe and with which operating system.
