In Windows 10 you can choose which login method you want to use. You have the choice between a password or a PIN. By default, a password is set for login. If you would rather have a PIN, you can change that in the settings.

How to set a PIN when logging in to Windows 10?

When logging in to Windows 10 with your Windows user account, you should rather use a PIN instead of a password. The PIN has the advantage that it is only stored locally on the device, while the username and password are sent to the Microsoft server. This gives hackers the opportunity to intercept this information. A PIN is not sent to the server and is only used for the one device.

1. Open the settings by either typing "settings" in the search bar at the bottom left and clicking on the program, or also go to the Windows icon at the bottom left and then click on the small gear.
2. Now select the option "Accounts" and click "Add" under PIN.
3. In the following window, enter your password and confirm the login with "Log in".
