More and more frequently, there has been talk recently of an ominous SMS that allegedly came from DHL. Our guide explains what's behind it and how you should act if you receive the SMS yourself.
First of all: It is a clear case of fake SMS, with which unknown third parties want to attract new "customers".DHL: Fake SMS in circulation - subscription trap lurks
The SMS, which is discussed since the end of 2019, contains the info that a package from you is unfortunately undeliverable. This sounds especially directly suspicious if you have sent no package on the way at all.- In the SMS is a link to a website. The DHL logo is emblazoned on it, but the page apparently has nothing to do with the logistics company. This shows already the look at the domain name.
- On the page you are asked to pay 2 euros so that your package can continue its journey.
- In truth, behind the payment option is the direct path to a subscription trap. To get out of this again, is very troublesome and annoying.
