Surface Pro 6: Access BIOS - how to open the menu

The Surface Pro 6 already has UEFI. This is a newer version of the BIOS and accordingly provides more features. It also ensures that your device boots faster. In addition, the UEFI is easier to use because you can also control it with the mouse.

How to access the UEFI of the Surface Pro 6

If you want to make changes in the BIOS, you have to access it first. The Surface Pro 6 already has the newer UEFI, which makes it easier to use. However, which functions it provides depends on the Surface model you are using. If you want to call up the UEFI on your Surface Pro 6, then you have two different options.

1. If your Surface is turned off, hold down the Volume up button.
2. Press the Power button.
3. Hold down the Volume up button until you see the UEFI menu.
4. Then you can use the menu options on the left to switch between the categories and make the desired changes.
5. If you have already booted the device, you can access the UEFI menu via the Start menu.
6. Open the settings and select the "Update and Security" option.
7. Anschließend klicken Sie auf „Wiederherstellung“ > „Erweiterter Start“ > „Jetzt neu starten“.
8. Nun klicken Sie unter „Problembehandlung“ auf „Erweiterte Optionen“.
9. Hier können Sie auf „UEFI-Firmware-Einstellungen“ > „Neu starten“ gehen. Das Surface wird neugestartet und das UEFI-Menü wird geöffnet.
