How to confirm your identity in Windows 10
If you signed in with your Microsoft account during a new Windows 10 installation or created a new account, you may need to confirm your identity for security reasons. If this is the case, you will receive a message via the Windows 10 Info Center. The legitimation works with the help of a confirmation code, which is sent to you, for example, by e-mail.- Call the Windows settings by pressing the [Windows] and [i] keys.
- Select the item "Account" in the overview.
- Click on the left in the navigation on the menu item "Your info".
- Click below the message "You need to confirm your identity on this PC" on "Confirm".
- Select via the drop-down menu, in which way you want to receive the confirmation code.
- Enter your stored email address or phone number, depending on your selection, and click "Next".
- Finally, enter the confirmation code that was sent to you in the input field and click "Next".
