How to take a screenshot? Keyboard shortcuts

If you want to capture something from your screen, you can take a screenshot. This will take a picture of your entire screen or just your active window, save it temporarily, and then you can paste it into a new document.

How to take a screenshot on your device

You can take a screenshot on PC, Mac, Android as well as iPhone.
  • For example, on Mac OS you can take a screenshot by pressing "cmd" + "Shift" + "3" keys simultaneously. The screenshot will be saved as a file on the desktop.
  • On your iPhone, however, hold down the power button and the home button at the same time. On newer devices, press the "Power" button and the "Quiet" button at the same time. Then the screen will briefly brighten and the screenshot will be saved in the photo folder.
  • If you want to capture the screen of your Android as an image, the procedure may vary depending on the manufacturer. Usually, however, you must also proceed here, as with the iPhone.
  • Under Windows, you have several options to choose from. Press the "Print" key for the whole screen and "Alt" + "Print" to take a picture of the active window. The image is then in the cache and can be inserted via "Ctrl" + "V" in Paint or an instant messenger, such as Telegram.
  • In Windows, you can also use the snipping tool. Press the key combination "Windows" key + "Shift" + "S", then you can use the left mouse button to highlight the area you want to photograph. Again, the image is stored in the cache.
