Samsung Galaxy A80: Hard Reset - this is how it works

In case of major problems with the Samsung Galaxy A80 that cannot be solved with a soft reset or a restart, it makes sense to reset the smartphone completely. You can perform such a hard reset either via the settings or the recovery mode of the smartphone.

Hard reset via smartphone settings

Be aware that resetting the A80 will delete all data stored on the device. Therefore, create a backup in advance.

1. Swipe your finger down from the top edge of the screen and tap the gear icon in the menu to open the settings.
2. Select the "Backup and reset" category in the overview.
3. Tap the "Reset to factory settings" option and then tap "Reset device".
4. Tap "Erase everything" to start the reset. Before the process starts, you may be prompted to enter your current PIN.

Resetting Galaxy A80 via Recovery Mode

In case you can't access the A80's settings normally, you can reset the smartphone via Recovery Mode.

1. Turn off the device.
2. Press the Power button and the Volume Down button simultaneously until the Samsung logo appears on the display.
3. Drücken Sie danach erneut die Einschalt-Taste in Kombination mit dem Lauter-Knopf, bis der Recovery Modus startet.
4. Navigieren Sie im Menü über die Lauter- und Leiser-Taste zum Punkt „wipe data/factory reset“ und bestätigen Sie die Auswahl mit der Einschalt-Taste.
5. Bestätigen Sie, dass alle Daten gelöscht werden mit „Yes“.
6. Starten Sie abschließend das Smartphone über „reboot system now“ neu.
