Connecting laptop to printer: It's that easy

You can easily connect your laptop and printer by WLAN or by cable. The connection with WLAN is more practical, because it allows you to print not only near the printer. However, not all printers support this feature.

How to connect your printer and laptop

If you want to print from your laptop, you have two options to choose from. You can either connect the printer and laptop with a cable or print via a WLAN connection. The latter has the advantage that you can print from anywhere in the house. However, this requires a WLAN-enabled printer. If you have properly connected or linked the devices and still cannot print, you should install the printer's driver. You can find this on the manufacturer's website or on a CD provided.

Connect laptop via cable

1. Connect the printer to the power outlet and then plug in the data transfer cable.
2. Connect the other end of the cable to the laptop.
3. You can now use the printer.

Connecting laptop and printer via WLAN

1. Turn on the laptop and printer.
