To connect a monitor to a laptop, you need the right cable. Once both devices have been connected, make all further adjustments through your laptop.

To connect a laptop and a monitor, all you need is a suitable cable. Most devices have a DVI port and an HDMI port. If your laptop has a USB-C port, there is also the option of using an adapter from USB-C to HDMI.How to connect monitor and laptop
Having the right cable or adapter at hand, proceed as follows:- Plug an HDMI or DVI cable into your monitor.
- Connect the cable to the laptop or with the adapter and this to the laptop.
- Start the laptop and turn on the monitor.
- Click on a free space on the desktop of your laptop with the right mouse button.
- Select "Screen Resolution" in the context menu.
- In the dialog window that opens, the screen of your laptop is displayed.
- Click "Detect" under it.
- Next to the screen of your laptop, the second monitor is now displayed.
- Click on the second screen. You can now adjust the resolution and other settings.
- Select which monitor belongs to your laptop.
- Check the option "Use this monitor as main monitor" at the desired monitor.
