Google Docs Alternative - this option you have

Google's web-based Office Suite allows you to access and edit your documents anytime, anywhere via your browser. However, in addition to the Google service, there are other comprehensive alternatives that you can use to edit your documents.

Microsoft Office Online - the most important features at a glance

With its Office Online suite, Microsoft offers the most comprehensive alternative to Google Docs.
  • As in the desktop version of Microsoft Office, you have all the familiar tools from Word to PowerPoint at your disposal in the online version.
  • If you are already an Office user, you will have no problems with the move, because you stay with the familiar user interface.
  • The files are stored online in OneDrive, so you always have access everywhere. This also has the advantage that you don't have to worry about losing data.
  • In the free version of Microsoft Office Online, you get 5 gigabytes of OneDrive storage in addition to the tools. The paid version is 69 euros a year and offers 1 terabyte of OneDrive storage as well as the desktop versions of the various applications.

Other alternatives at a glance

In addition to Microsoft Office Online, there are other free alternatives. Cloud storage provider DropBox also offers DropBox Paper, a web-based word processor that integrates seamlessly with DropBox cloud storage and offers a comprehensive online editor. Another option is the free basic version of the Nuclino web app. There you get 5 gigabytes of free storage and can edit text documents via the browser and even in collaboration with colleagues.
