Tolino: screen freeze

From time to time it can happen that the screen of the Tolino freezes. If this is the case, you can restart the device using the rest button. If the problem occurs more frequently, you should think about resetting the Reader completely to factory settings.

How to get your eReader working again

If the screen of your Tolino is frozen, restarting it is the easiest way to get it working again.
  • The reset button is located on the side of the reader and is accessible through a small opening. To press the button, use a bent paper clip, for example.
  • If you have a Tolino epos or shine, press and hold the power button for about ten seconds instead to reboot.

Setting Tolino to factory settings

If your eReader freezes frequently, you should reset the device to factory settings. Note that factory reset will delete all data from the device that is not in the Tolino Cloud. So back up all important data in the cloud or via USB cable on the computer.
  1. Hold down the Volume Up button and the Power button for about ten seconds until you see the reboot screen.
  2. To enter the recovery mode, briefly press and hold the Power button.
  3. Select "Wipe Data/Factory Reset" in the menu. The navigation works with the volume up and down button. Confirm your entry with the On and Off button.
  4. Confirm again with the On and Off button that you want to delete all data on the device.
  5. Then select the option "reboot system now" to restart the tolino.
